Ricardo Garcia, PhD
Vice President of Translational Sciences
Dr. Ricardo Garcia is Vice President of Translational Sciences at GeneToBe Inc. Dr. Garcia focuses on GeneToBe’s discovery portfolio from target identification through drug candidate development, including IND/NDA submission. Dr. Garcia recently served as Head of Cardiovascular Pharmacology at Bristol Myers Squibb where he oversaw discovery research at multiple sites. Under his leadership, his teams enabled the advancement of multiple clinical trial drug candidates for treating lipid disorders, cardiometabolic disease and acute myocardial infarction. Dr. Garcia was a Senior Scientist of Cardiovascular Drug Discovery at the Esperion Therapeutics Division of Pfizer Global Research & Discovery for three years prior to his 17 years at BMS. Ricardo received his PhD from Northwestern University and postdoctoral training at UC San Diego in cardiovascular pharmacology and physiology. He also concurrently held a faculty position at UC San Diego, Department of Medicine from 2007-2019. Currently, he is a visiting scholar at Wayne State University in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
